Default Repo Small Gauges

I'm visiting the US next week from the UK and thinking about picking up a set of small gauges as my temp gauge is stuck on hot and I suspect the amp and oil pressure are not working properly, so I'm asking what are the best small gauges I can buy? At the moment I'm looking at the ACdelco from ZIP Corvette.

I've had very bad luck with repro gauges for my 63 (long story) from at least three vendors... Either the appearance or operation was bad....for my fuel gauge I wound up installing my face and needle onto an NOS 64 movement to get things right...

If I were you I would carry my gauges with me or send them ahead to either Joe Ray in Arkansas or Brian of Corvette Specialties and try to arrange for a quick turn around and maybe you can take them back with you...

No time now to pull the dash B4 I fly, I will only fit the repo if I cant get the original working. it will save me about $150 if I bring the gauges back with me.

Well - my recommendation would be K&B Special Products for repro gauges but their website is acting bizarre and their phone number just has a generic voice message...
So - I don't know what's up with that...

Wherever you decide to purchase gauges from, PLEEEEZE do not completely install cluster without testing gauges. It took me 4 repro temp gauges before I was able to get an accurate reading. begee22

Its worse than that:

A repro gauge compared to an original - the terminals were so close together the connector couldn't fully seat.

Here is a repro 63 fuel gauge from yet another vendor compared to an original....the mounting nuts in back are perfectly straight -- notice anything ?

Yup - the gauge was crooked as hell once installed in the dash; also notice the difference in font and the super shiny center cone...

Which is why I moved my gauge face and needle over to an NOS 64 movement...
