I would check the frame and other places for the real serial number. Worse case senario....it's a hot 63 that's been living life as a 64 for all those years. You don't want the wrong people snoopin around, that's for sure.

If it's an early split it might have a 62 manufactured motor as well.

Anyway you look at it, she's a beauty.
Yeah such vin tag swapping was not so uncommon back in the day. Gorgeous car regardless.

I’m surprised nothing new from the OP despite a litany of responses. Maybe he got hooked up with Krissi and is inspecting the z06...

My June car doesn’t either. Late 63s also do not have the typical 63 spare tire tubs.

Kind of typical here. He hasn't been back on the Forum since he posted. I was going to offer to look at it for him if he's close by. Hopefully he comes back at some point to view the responses.

Maybe the very real possibility of a VIN swap led the OP to stop posting? It would me.

If it's a '64 it will have the added "bowl" in the left rear wheel well for the interior vent motor:

Can you post pictures of the tags under the glove box?

I tracked down the guy who did the body work back in '74. He's still in business and he remembered the car. He verified the story about the tree limb and even verified his signature on the bill of sale that was in the car. He said he bought the car from the insurance company after they totaled it. He happened to have a 63 on his lot and pieced it back together. Sold it to the guy I bought it from. So it looks legit.

Ron's Restoration in Fitchburg did the work. He did a great job.

that’s impressive that he’s alive, in business and on record. I think those things help you on the eventual sale in any event
