Near Banff, Canada June 2011
We have no limitation on distance, only limits are time and $$. We have travelled to all lower 48 states, Wash DC and all the Canadian provinces since 2003. Our longest trip was 7,100 miles (3 weeks) when we went to Labrador, Canada. Second longest was to Oregon coast, northern CA. and it was 6,000 miles. I keep my Vette ready to go anywhere and know when it may not be able to go. Our driving season is nearly here for us in the Midwest. Just waiting to get some more of the salt off the roads and finish our preventative maintenance (next week) for the driving season.
Safe driving to all,
Steve Stone (original owner, triple black '63 convertible, 570,000 miles)

Member wmf62 (Bill) took his '62 on a 10,000 mile journey across country. Only problem was he lost an axle shaft 2/3 of the way through in a remote location. Forum members rallied to his aid and IIRC member John McGraw showed up with an axle shaft and they swapped it in and he finished his travels... These cars have "long legs" and can go anywhere if you have them "dialed in" and a little mechanical common sense...

Just back from an 1100 mile round trip in my 66 from Pensacola, FL to Venice, FL for a Corvette show. I'll be driving to the NCM next month for the Bash, about 500 miles one way.

And you came on down to the Treasure Coast for a visit on that trip.

I drove mine over 400 miles the morning after I bought it. My painter lives 3 hours away and I drove it there the first time he looked at it. Nowadays I'm not afraid to drive it anywhere. Last weekend I drove 1:45 to the Expo in TN. That was the first time having it out this year and it ran great. I really like those 3.08 gears!

I took my 59 on a section of the 2016 Power Tour from Dallas to Wichita, KS. Blew an electric fuel pump fuse about 100 miles in, took about 45 min. to find it but had a spare fuse. No problems after that except heat, approx. 105 deg. Installed Vintage Air soon after that. That was about a 900 mile round trip.

It's been a while since I've gone more than 60 miles or so, but I've only had it back on the road a few years. Before that I took it from LA to Laughlin, to Sedona and Tucson, to Solvang, to the bay area, and back, and to Willow Springs and Buttonwillow (where I took it on the track).
I plan to drive it to Monterey this spring.

When I bought my car in 1981, I drove it home from Kentucky to the Chicago area. (With an upper radiator hose replaced along the way!)
But since then it is mostly just driven within25 miles or so from home.
I live in the East Bay part of the SF Bay Area (for the past 22 years), and have driven it into San Francisco a couple/few times, but the hills are a pain! I can't remember now what prompted me to do it, but one time I had the car in SF during a heavy rain, and some of the steeper hills became a festival of spinning tires! I've also driven it to work a few times, which is about an hour commute, much of it on freeways, but with heavy traffic.
Probably the longest drives since moving to CA have been down to the Monterey Bay area, which is about a two hour drive, each way.
I have some nice country roads by my home, some of which head down to the Livermore, CA wine (and cattle ranch) country. So I don't have to go far for some entertaining drives.
I'm not really worried that much about breaking down. Probably my biggest issue is lack of full confidence in my stock brakes, with single-chamber master cylinder. I always try to have a fair amount of room in front of me, which is often hard to do on CA freeways. At some point I intend to upgrade the brakes a bit, which may encourage me to venture a bit farther afield....

I don't know if it is still true but years ago the national statistics were that people spent about 90% of their time within a 25 mile radius of their home.

Over 30,000 miles in less than 6 years. One ride of shame 30 miles from home because the clutch cross shaft bushing bolt disappeared and I needed to get home.
Several trips to southern Indiana from Minnesota-650 miles one way. Two trips to Byron Illinois for the Meltdown Drags-350 miles one way. Don't know how long the good Lord will let me be around so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
