You can do white lines for less the 400 bucks. Red lines will be at least 900 bucks.

In the tub WW 7.75 x 15 Laredo by Uniroyal. I don’t think it has ever seen the asphalt. Rim feels slick as a babies bottom too no rust

That definitely looks like the original spare tire and rim. It has been on the ground as the **** on the tread are gone, but it's still pretty awesome. Most probably the car came with white stripe tires from the factory. Love it. ARA

I'd cal that a White Wall rather than a White Stripe, I'm surprised to see the Black rim.

The rim/wheel on the spare in my 67 was/is painted in the argent silver color. I have owned the car since 1971 as the second owner and was friends with the first owner. Having known the car since it was about 4 months old I am convinced the wheel(s) all came painted silver.
I wonder if the OPs spare wheel was as a replacement?

Just wanted to post some pics of Engine ID 7122434. Yes the 3 and the last 4 hard to make out but it’s there. Earlier I posted the VIN 194677S122434 on the PoP plate picture

Hard to say for sure under that heavy orange paint, but I would say you are golden. I suggest that at some point you remove that orange paint from the pad, very very carefully. Use no tools.
Only lacquer thinner, and rag or cotton *****. And preferably wipe from back to front, not side to side. You do not want to do anything that might mar the factory broach marks on the pad, that run the same direction as the crankshaft. Good luck,

re. below, it is not about the stamped numbers. We can see all of those just fine. It is about the pad surface, the machine marks, or super fine striations made by Flint factory broaching machine. You don't need to at this point, becasue you have already bought the car, and are comfortable with it (as I would be). But, it would be nice to be able to see the whole pad surface, without paint on it, and see the very fine factory broach marks, that I am pretty certain are there (though I could well be wrong).

Thanks. When I expand the picture at home I can see the last 4 and of course on the block itself ever so light I can def see it but I was afraid to use anything on it that might mess it up. But I know it’s there so I’m happy

re: I will try to clean with cotton ball and thinner “In god we trust, all others we verify”. 👍

i knew someone who who bought a stamping kit to make something that wasn’t there ..... so I now understand why broaching marks are so important .

Spare looks like original equipment and has seen road time. Note how 52 year old USA made rubber is still crack free and serviceable. Try doing that with any tire made after 2010.....not gonna happen. While a favorite of mine is black with red interior, I have to say that exposure to this car has given me a new appreciation....it's very understated and classy, without being 'in your face'. The very definition of COOL. Well bought, IMO....and keep the photos and posts coming!

Coming to this party late, but great find and purchase. Lots of great advice and good on you to go slow and carefully - lots of small details matter with regards to you car's value if you're going to stay original (which seems to be your direction, and others, including myself, agree with). The good folks here have saved me tons of time, frustration, money, and mistakes when I took the time to ask first. Very little that is incorrect cannot be remedied, but some correction paths are easier.

Looking forward to your journey!

They start as black front and back, then the fronts got sprayed silver over the black, you get silver overspray around the slots on the back.

Paul,
I think he was saying there is silver overspray in the back, which is normal. But, the front was repainted black.

I was trying to say that all five wheels where silver on the outside when they left St Louis. and someone for some reason painted these wheels black.

OP has bought the car from the original owner, who is still fully lucid and provides every piece of paper from Day 1.
And he has to argue details of the car with someone who knows everything about "these cars" yet wasn't born for a decade after the car was new.
Something is wrong with this picture.
