while I love this car I think 100K is dreaming just a tad. its rare and uncommon as they come and sought after by collectors. does this car run and drive, with everything working? if so I could see 85-90K if not then around 70K. just note when I showed the internet world dads 67 black on saddle coupe eight years ago, I was told that made seven cars known in black on saddle. your car would be eight. unless more came out of the wood work. being repainted hurts the car more then anything else.

I know when he said repaint aaaahh but even still nice to know its a rare combo . I always read ( at a used corvette dealer of course) RARE combo 1 of 1 blah blah but again nice to know its not common vette will be neat to see where this goes . I thought the documents to go with it was amazing I cant even find my receipt from lunch let alone the info he saved …

I want to thank everyone that did and is still commenting on this post / car . I promise to post what the final $$ out come and better pictures when I get a chance.

PS Was told last ran a year ago and ran well, currently has a carb leak ( float adjustment) so did not start at this time but plan on taking carb to a Holley expert for a rebuild . Radio and Clock only things that do not currently work all else good !!

I want to get the car back on the road for him to bring him ( owner) back to his glory days for awhile to enjoy I can see his eyes light up when we talk about it .

Seems like an amazing car. Would be great to see more of it. That trim tag is bulletproof and the documentation/colors:and being a one-owner car puts it in rare air.

Hopefully, if the owner does proceed in selling it, they let you or another enthusiast have a bite at the apple before letting a dealer get it.

I don’t know how ANYONE could put a number on this car with the two poor pictures we have seen. I would have to see a LOT more pictures before I would venture to guess.

I don’t need more photos. 65hihp’s 100k could be realized, but I will be a little bit more conservative and say 80k. We know you want to be fair, so not a penny less! And remember, you asked US what it’s worth.....

It is always easy to spend other people's money and talk is cheap.

People that might already have a similar car would LIKE for it to be a $100K car.

How many people here would actually step up and pay that kind of money with what we know about this car so far?

I personally am not a fan of black Corvettes especially with tan interior. I know, I know some are and think it is a big deal. It was not when they were new. It was the least popular color and the one I am referencing below IS what was the most popular color in it's day new.

The below car is probably as well documented as the subject car.
The car below is a 300 h.p. and the 350 h.p. add would be 10% BUT the car below has MORE options including A/C, PS, PW, PB and headrests. Which would be a minimum of a 20% add. So by these numbers the car below should be worth at least 10% more than the subject car.

The car below has been in the classifieds and unsold for several days so at $99500. it is not jumping to the sold column.

Thes are the factory options

*C60 Factory Air Condition- cold at 44 degrees
*N40 Power Steering
*Power Brakes
* G81 3:08 Positract Axle
*A82 Headrests
*A 31Power Windows
*N36 Telescopic Steering Wheel
*U15 Speed Warning Equip
* A01Tinted Glass
*U69 AM/FM Radio
*N11 Off Road Ser Exhaust
*Red Line Tires(Radials)
*M20 4 spd Trans

How? Here's how----- >

I found a 1967 327/350 hp 4 spd 3.70 posi convertible. Tuxedo Black painted once in the 80s not cracks whatsoever could use a good buff. Saddle vinyl interior and black top.
Manual steering and brakes, AM/FM kinda works clock does not. all interior lights as well as headlights work too. All chrome is in great shape for age.
This is a numbers MATCHING 1 owner car unmolested. . Has buyers invoice, PoP plate Corvette club membership card dated in 67' hand written maintenance file with every detail logged in . EVERYTHING matches paperwork. I'm sure tank sticker there too but don't want to drop the tank Invoice even shows trading in 1965 Mustang v8 4 spd ...
Simply amazing the history from this Naval Aviators car purchased in Pensacola Florida while in flight training before going to Vietnam War . Aviator wings sticker on vent window.
Car shows great but documentation is incredible its my neighbors car and I am trying to help him out. The stories he tells are even better as far as what he did to and with the car 50k miles odometer broke at 20k documented in maintenance records . ( Never rebuilt ) garaged entire life , no rust on frame.

Here's the deal. 67 L79 conv that check the boxes above do not exist. There are people who will pay serious money for such a car. Not you, and not me (though I wish I were able to).
But there are people. I said 100 give or take. My point is, this is (near) the top of the food chain for a small block 67, I don't care how many RPOs it's lacking. Of course all this assumes the description is accurate. I don't know if it is or not. All I know is what I read here.

Without pictures and a detailed inspection of the car, this is nothing more than an academic exercise in speculation.

I don't think anyone would from the limited information, ( especially without their better halfs permission …. Everyone would want to see and put their hands on the vette, dive into the paperwork and that is completely understandable and expected unless incredibly deep pockets... my main goal from the post was to give me a better appreciation of what this car was all about and is it an average bowtie or above or below...…. from people in the know . I personally love red on red we all have our favorites , when I saw the black on Saddle I said whhaaaat never seen those colors before . but with that being said the Sr guys who have been around awhile have educated me on the uncommonness of the car and that is what some collector / owners desire. We have to admit when at a car show or cruise in and a fellow vette guy with good background knowledge says " hey you got a nicely looking unique car, we feel good". I personally LOVED the documentation and the fact that he basically left the car alone. I think back to when I was very young to what I did to my 69 Mach 1 ripping FACTORY parts off to put after market on. So what will someone pay from what I am reading someone who comes and sees the car and knows what they are looking at the price will be pretty good, better then I first thought .

So thank you for all the comments and thoughts.....even the crickets ...

A good friend has a Black/Saddle L79 coupe and has owned for decades. I will put you in touch with him if you end up buying the car.
Regarding price - without side pipes or AC (and has a repaint) I am confident that the price should be 70-80. Paper is AMAZING, but doesn't add 5 figures of value - instead it legitimizes a usually faked car. Paper is wonderful. ARA

I agree. Except for me, no sidepipes is a huge plus. These cars look and sound much nicer without them, IMO. The fact that the OP's car in question is so well documented and preserved and in a desirable color combo are all solid pluses. A 70-80k car more than likely. Vs a garden-variety 55k car that most are.

Without better pictures of the exterior, interior, engine compartment and underside, my estimate would be 75-85k.

Nice paperwork on a L79 car is not worth 5 figures of value. Not sure about the number of only 7 known black saddle cars in '67. Especially when the Black Book shows that only 10 cars that year were painted in only primer or a non standard color. I owned a L79 black saddle convertible and sold to a friend. He also owns the same car except a coupe that has a/c. Both cars sold new locally here in the Cleveland area.
I am trying to figure out how some here think that this car is worth $100K. I really like original cars. I will pay more for them. I know many who think like me as well. But this car has already been repainted. It is has 50K miles. So it is not some low mileage time capsule. From what we know it has been well cared for. But the pictures suck. I can see from the interior picture what looks like a couple of dents in the glove box door. Not a big deal. But not uncommon from a 50K mile car to have some bumps and bruises. I inspected a '67 green/saddle L79 roadster that had newer paint, original door panels, seat covers, dash pads with new carpet all in above average condition. I know that the car in this thread is blk and saddle. But the green car had original a/c that is in good working condition. I would say that the a/c would really close the gap in price between the two cars. The car sold three months ago for $75K. I look at a lot of cars for sale most everyday. I get personally involved with several of them. This car is not worth near $100K. But I have seen people pay too much for cars all of the time so who knows
