Went from 100 to 90 to 85 then 80, now 70.
Will anyone give 60?

I'm thinking of coming in at 55. I'm not really a fan of black anyway.

I hope we hear where this one lands. I was totally with Don on pushing six digits but it’s hard to argue with Pancho and his experience- except to say it only takes two people who want it to run the price up in an auction type scenario anyway.
We also aren’t talking about 300SL or Cobra money - LOTS of people who love the color combo (I do!) also have the means to pay up simply because it makes them happy at this level How many people can afford to throw $20,000 extra at a car the way we might throw $2,000? Most everyone here knows a horde.
In my mind hard to compare a green/green car to this.
Fascinating to see what happens.

Interestingly, I had a 67 coupe dropped in my lap yesterday with 19,000 original miles for $55,000. I inspected this car for the current owner when he bought it a few years ago. Now he is selling. Marlboro Maroon, 300 horse, 4 speed. Original paint, interior, motor etc. Drives like a new 67. I've known this car since I was a kid. I may pass on it. I don't need another car. I would like it, but I am out of room. Nice price for this car. Not black, but I actually like Maroon more.

The outstanding documentation is the wildcard. I say $60k to those who don’t care, $90k to the right buyer who will pay the premium for all the cool history.

Things are getting realistic now. From post #17 at $100k to this.
The docs don’t push this car to $90k to bring the car to that number you will have to find two bidders with a LOT of money that LOVE black but I did not see anything in this thread about an auction.

True story -
I was hot on a 67 Black 390 coupe loaded with options. Second owner for 35 years. Owner bought it from the original owners wife. All the paper in the world. Real Pipe car, red lines, TI, on and on with options. NO HIT body, never in an accident, all in affidavits from Original owners estate. POP, window sticker, etc. I had my money ready to buy, lined up transport, etc. This was literally the week my son was due to be born so i could not fly out there to inspect the car myself so i hired someone i know well whom inspects lots of cars whom i know personally to go give it a once over. He called me from there. Nice car he said. Drives excellent. Great, i don't care about that - are the tags and motor real.....answer yes....OK, so what's the bad news...?////
Car had a 63 Nose on it and it had the right rear quarter replaced, and poorly done at that. Every expletive came out of my mouth. The inspection cost me over a grand, but it saved me 6 figures. Seller wouldn't budge on price after he was notified of the above. I walked away.
Morale of the story - there aren't any virgins out there. This car that the OP speak about may in fact be all he assumes it is....and it may not. Assumptions costs people boat loads of money daily. Be careful. Don't get caught up in the paperwork, in fact i wouldn't even look at the paper until after i spent 3-4 hours inspecting the car itself. A black 67 is guilty until proven innocent. I know. I judge for the NCRS and also learned first hand with my above example. There isn't one picture of the engine pad, casting numbers pictures, etc. Bonding strips? There's so much more to this car. This is a great mental exercise, but isn't worth a pile of poo without confirming the "meant and potatoes" - referring to trim tag, vin tag and engine stamp are proven to be real/original/born with from St. Louis.
Be careful, buy it if it's real. My two cents. Good luck, and i hope it turns out to be real and that you campaign the car so we all can lust over it. ARA
So i am still looking for a real Black 67.....still.....be careful.....

Now pricing may have declined a little bit within the past year, but the relative numbers would remain the same.
For the OP's car, I believe the repaint prevents the car from being considered a survivor by those people interested in these cars (at least those willing to pay $100K). And black small blocks do not get the same color premium that black big blocks get. Still, I could see a car like this pulling $80K. It is ironic that a repaint, which would ostensibly be to improve the car's visual appeal, actually detracts from its value in the marketplace.

I recently inspected a supposedly virgin survivor '63 SWC that was just out of 39 years of dry storage. Put away in 1980 in a wooden crate inside a garage. When I inspected the car, it had been hit on all 4 corners early on, had a paint color change, and an interior color change. It had been in one bad wreck early in life or several wrecks by the time it was 5-6 years old. It looked great in the pictures. When I went and put hands on it, I found all the repaired crash damage. The new owner was unaware of it. You never know until you or an expert actually lays hands on the car to inspect it thoroughly.

You can not take car adds seriously. I went to see a 442 one time. The ad said "No Rust " . When I seen the car the bottom 6 inches of the body was rusted right off! No Rust, just holes where the metal used to be.

The Corvette DNA app does not take a lot of thing into consideration. For example, the Corvette DNA app has a 435HP coupe in show condition with low miles in the mid $180s. Yet the market shows many benchmark quality cars trading from $250-300K. And even more disparate is the effect of color (which the Corvette app does not consider at all). A perfectly restored green 435 would pull at most $125-150K. A black with blue stinger 435 (with the appropriate documentation) could bring in the neighborhood of $600-700K.
Now pricing may have declined a little bit within the past year, but the relative numbers would remain the same.

There is not a price guide in existence that I know of that gives any premium for color.
You are out of your mind, There might be ONE buyer in the world that MIGHT pay that kind of money for the color combo. You are a C2 BB owner that I am sure you would like to see that kind of pricing to drag you car along.
