Default 1961 fuse block question.

Which of the posts on the left side of the fuse box are switched? i.e. which will have power when the ignition switch is on and which will have no power when ignition switch is off.I'm assuming all these see battery voltage.

I would think the one marked "brk al" would be, that's for the parking brake light. Put a meter on it and turn the key off and on. Most of the others hot all the time or when the headlights are on. You know the hot side of the flasher for the turn signals would be switched. I'd do some physical checking of voltage.

Pretty sure the Brake Alarm is switched as stated above...
You can check others with a meter or dig around some more on your Dr Rebuild schematic to find others...

Verify with a test light or multimeter

MIne is. Ignition has to be on. And the car is stock.

Not stealing the thread. But is there any reason to switch out a stock fuse panel to the newer blade fuses, without changing out the wire harness?

Default Fuses

Top 2 fuses are hot all the time off of the ampmeter, next 3 are switched from ignition switch and bottom is fed off of headlight switch. The terminals to the left of each fuse are fed from that fuse.

Not really except the amp rating is easier to read. You can use these as an alternative. Prob the most useful in troublesome circuits that may blow a fuse at times.

Default Fuses

Easy to remove fuse block to look at back and confirm how it is wired, partially with copper buss. 2 screws hold it to firewall, 1easy access the other is behind a fuse.
