Very cool car. There's a post on FB where someone posted the damage to the rear clip and frame. It would be a fun project to bring back to life.

That is amazing I don’t remember that car. I grew up in Waynesboro not far from where the car was found. I purchased a new marina blue 435 that year, there was a 400 green coupe and a 390 Marlboro maroon vert also. I always thought it was odd that in a small town like Waynesboro or Hagerstown there would be 3 big blocks that year. We used to race at Mason Dixon Drag strip all the time and I’ve never seen that car.

"could be worth 400,000 after its cleaned" Quite a find. WOW Thinking I would leave it just as it is, with the exception of tires, brakes and hoses. Fire it, Tune it and go for a ride.

Link please?

I saw the rear deck lid looked pranged up in a couple pics, so i assumed the rear end must have been hit pretty good. I doubt it woudl qualify for survivor, anymore, if was hit bad.

Doug
I was told by someone who saw it on FB. I don't do social media, hopefully someone can post it here.

I had a similar opinion as to the motor condition. That is either a lot of greasy dirt on the valve covers, or rust ate the paint away, and if rust ate the paint away, off a new motor, I wonder what else is rust eaten. It looks like a filthy, well driven car. Unless it was stored with the hood open for 50 years, with no air cleaner, in a sauna.

I know next to nothing about under hood originality on that year, but shouldn't there be factory applied stickers and decals that would still be on a 1000 mile car?

Like I said in my earlier response, I’m surprised I was not aware of that car but I just called a buddy of mine that is familiar with It and he says it was hit pretty hard. It was his understanding the gas tank was removed from the wreck and He thought the paperwork was gone.

Looks like it was sprayed down with some heavy oil to "preserve" things. Might have actually worked to a degree.

With it being a no radio car it would not have the shield as others have stated. The motor compartment looks very original although very dirty and oily. The question I have is what happened to the original tires? The ones on the car are not OEM and look pretty worn to me.

Crazy story. Hard to believe it only has 1200 miles though. I’m skeptical. No radio but he ordered a tele column.

Believe what ever you want. It is true 1293 mile car that was damaged and stored.

The car has GM paperwork. The tank was gone, but other GM paper and the protect o plate showing what the cars is and how it was ordered was with the car. It is awesome.
