This is the area that Corvettes really shined. Lots of great memories at NEITA raceway in Cedar Falls, Iowa back in the late 60s.

Back in the 70's or 80's they had a pretty good Corvette event there with a swap meet and drags, good time watching the Vettes run. It was during the period it was Seattle International Raceways.

My Dad took me out to SIR, I still call it SIR by the way, when I was a kid in the 70's.... 64 Funny Cars, The Fox Hunt.... back then I didn't really understand why they called it the Fox Hunt..... but it was funny cars, dragsters, jet cars..... it was AWESOME..... certainly played a part in me becoming heavily involved with drag racing in my later years...… If you were out there then, you probably saw these..... they were just a couple of the Vette's that ran out of Division 6...…

Yeah, I still call it SIR too, there is a chance I saw them but so long ago I don't remember. Good times, wish I had gone more.

Here is a shot of me in my pro street car from a few years back. A lot of work but it delivered a lot of fun.

I am from Tacoma and I still call it "SIR" as well. In the late 60's and early 70's went there many weekends to see, smell and hear those machines....

Actually the first couple of times I went it was Pacific Raceways before they changed it to "SIR'' (Seattle International Raceways) but most of my young adult years it was "SIR" and that's what stuck. Now that it's back to Pacific it will take a while to adjust.....if ever.

Classic California photograph---so much money in that State and the cradle of Hot Rod culture. We never had close to that number of Corvettes at our drag strip back then. No wonder they call it the land of "milk and honey". Outstanding photo.
