Default TI rotating pole piece part#

Can someone tell me what the correct GM part # is for the rotating pole piece on a 1966 L72 TI distributor? The one in my car is missing the 2 plastic buttons, are they supposed to be there.
Thanks Bob Moon

Hi Bob,

Yes the nylon buttons are supposed to be there. The GM part number from the GM parts counter catalog (Rosenthal Chevrolet) for the rotating pole piece on a 66 L72 T.I. Distributor is: 1964272

Hope this helps.

C.J.

While that part number is handy to have it won’t do you much good as it’s been discontinued for well over 40 years and I don’t think your local parts store can get you anything for TI parts. But Lectric Limited and K&B products manufacture them

Anyone know when the nylon/plastic (?) pads replaced the metal ? See attached pic (check black arrow) of a 1966 396 passenger engine manual trans, points ignition, on a 1111109 distributor. Same wear surface (metal, not plastic) as was on a '64 T.I. set-up I got at a swap meet.
