Default Engine swap

I have a 62 that I’m going to install a blueprint 383 stroker engine in. What I would like to do is get away from my current bellhousing that requires you to bolt the starter to and be able to bolt it to the block. Can anybody tell me which bellhousing I would need to go to? Thx

I am thinking DZAuto is the man you want to talk to, but I don't think any change is needed. With the same generation block, you have the same fitup.

You can use a regular bell housing but it must match your flywheel size. 10 and 1/2 or 11. AND of course a different block mounted starter matching flywheel diameter also.

Yes you need a Corvette clutch fork because it is different also, but it fits either bell housing.

If you are putting a 383 in it, then seriously consider a scatter shield then use a mini starter.

If that's a Blueprint engine you will need a new flywheel. The one piece rear oil seal is larger.

Yes, have one in my '57 Chevy convertible. Make sure you have a good dist gasket and down tight or you'll be chasing a mysterious oil leak! Ask me how I know, after pulling the intake thinking it's the china wall gasket leaking!
