Thanks, I gave myself a soft limit of $70k. The final multiple 2 minute extensions were pretty exciting and sfgrl was determined, pulling the win at the end. My plan would have been to clean up the undercarriage, inspect/correct all the mechanicals, and drive it as is. Would have been glorious!

I'm new to the mid-year world and have only my 64 covert to go by but can some of you knowledgable guys point out some of the things that told you that it wasn't a 63 right away? It may help others not get burned.

Having 17" or 18" wheels/tires does not make this a resto-mod.

Looks like a modified custom C2 to me. With a modified front end and interior.

The mechanical systems have not been upgraded, but rebuilt. Even the description says " Modified"

Looks like it is only in "Fair Shape" not worth anymore.

The listed VIN is for a late '63, but no photo of the VIN plate. Back in the mid to late sixties there were stories of taking the "split" out of of SWCs. So now guys are putting a split in post '63 C2s? Is this a first or is it as common as cloning L-88s?

I can understand some suspicion that this car is not a real SWC, but how can you be so sure. What did I miss?

AGGGGGGH! I just figured it out. The A-pillars and door frames are a dead giveaway.... so is the IP...don't know how I could have missed that.
