Good afternoon, I'm fairly new to the forum and a C2 owner and I'm slowly working on a few items on my '66 327/350hp convertible. My convertible is an original A/C car and i need a new windshield. From what I've read on a previous thread is that all '66 Convertible A/C cars came with a tinted windshield, is that correct? There was a lot of conversation about coupes but not so much regarding convertibles. Can someone help me please. I'm in the process of looking for a good AIM, Noland Adams, along with ordering a NCRS judging guide but i have not acquire them yet so i lean on my fellow members to educate me till i do. I appreciate everyone's help and input.

Your C60 option had no effect on window glass on a Convertible. On a Coupe, C60 included tinted rear window.
Your Convertible came with clear glass, unless it was ordered with RPO A01 (all glass tinted) or RPO A02 (windshield only tinted, and shaded).

How would i know if it had one of these options? Is there any thing that would make it obvious or point it out other then the window sticker at purchase?
Well, you can only guess from evidence if you don't have any original sales docs. Is your door glass Soft-Ray, with correct logo, and date that fits your car? And all 4 door glass similar date codes? If so, you likely have original door glass. (unless the car is a full body off resto, in which case all glass may be replacement). If original tinted door glass, then the windshield was also tinted. If your door glass is clear, and your windshield is not original, then you can't know if the car came with clear or A02 WS. You can choose which you want, and no one will be the wiser.
Well reproduction tinted windshields are very apparent if you know what original tint band looks like. Other then that no one will know.
So would you say that the clear option would be the most original appearing then? From my understanding there is only 2 manufactures that have the correct licensing, logos etc. Is one better then the other?

In addition to the above clues, you can check the date codes on all of your windows to see if they're consistent with you car's build date. Although not entirely definitive, if the glass is dated any time after your car's build date or too many months before, it would say that the glass was not original to the car. For example, all of my glass has the same month and year codes, and are entirely consistent with my car's build date, which would say that my glass is original. Look for the two letter date codes on each piece of glass.
