I have a 67 L79. All Mid-Year Corvetts use a special #257 flashing bulb, not the regular #1816 cluster illumination bulb. Does anyone know the correct number for the flasher bulb?
I looked for one of those. No luck. You're probably going to need to keep the #257 bulb if you want the BRAKE and LIGHTS indicators to flash. You may want to check the polarity of those two sockets if you have the cluster out. IIRC, the LIGHTS socket is inverse polarity (center button is - and outer shell is +). You'd need a reverse polarity LED or non-polar LED to work in that socket. For sure the glove box lamp is reverse polarity and regular negative shell LEDs won't work in that socket.
Personal opinion, if you're going to the trouble to put in all LEDs just get something very bright for the LIGHTS and BRAKE warning lamps. The #257 bulbs are so puny they're almost impossible to see in daylight.

But will another LED work at all? I marked everything, so I just might replace them with regular new #257 and do the rest in LED.
Joe,
Remember, on your '67 only the headlamp light flashes (when the headlamps are not rotated open). The parking brake light does NOT blink. The standard factory bulbs are more than adequate.
Joe - Are you asking if someone has come up with an 'LED-equivalent' bulb to the flashing bulb #257? I've read a lot of threads on the subject of swapping over to LED's but don't recall if anyone has found a flasher LED type to take the
place of the factory #257 bulbs.
Leif - is the Brake Warning bulb on a 67 'not' a flasher-type like they are for 65/66s?

Joe,
For your 67, yes, they will work. They use the same size base(BA9). Your LIGHTS indicator will not flash though, but the BRAKES light doesn’t use a lamp that flashes, AKA type 257. I don’t see the need for an LED for the LIGHTS indicator as at night it is plenty bright enough.
I never had trouble seeing a 257 bulb in the day light. Either you need to get your eyes checked or your cluster is filthy and in need of a real restoration

Maybe on a '67 both will work. On a '66 the LIGHTS indicator will NOT work with a negative ground LED. The socket wiring is reverse polarity. Same thing in the glove box. The BRAKE indicator will work with a negative ground LED. I just had my cluster out a few days ago doing this conversion, so the information is fresh. This is what a 1416 bulb in the LIGHTS indicator and a 3 watt LED in the BRAKE indicator look like out in the sun. It was as close as I could get to direct sun on the cluster. There is no missing these two! Not exactly a "filthy" cluster, although it's time for a refresh on the tach and temp gauge faces.
Does it matter? Probably not. The headlights won't be on during the day other than in the rain and you'll know if your parking brake is on without seeing the warning lamp. That said, to answer the OP's original question, if there's a flashing LED, I haven't found it yet. And regular negative ground LEDs won't work in at least one place (at least two on my car).
Like so many things with these cars, it's a matter of personal preference. Kinda like Nowhere Man doesn't care for power steering. If that's how he likes his cars, then there's nothing wrong with that. "You don't need......", or "It's not necessary" is good advice when the thing someone's asking about brings in a risk or hurts the operation or performance of something else in the car. LEDs are not one of those things for the most part.
