Default ...another header question...

Just to be clear,if i want big block headers that exit towards the factory side exhaust/pipes my options are Hedman,ACP/Stahl,McJack's or the discontinued Stainless Works?
Are there others that I'm missing?
Thanks
Dom

I think Hooker might make them as well, and Doug’s , but honestly McJacks in my opinion is the best, a little expensive but the best.

I've been using a set of the McJack's shorty headers to route to my twin turbos. They fit very well even with my raised port Brodix heads and Borgeson steering box.

The quality has been excellent as I'm sure they weren't designed for the heat they endure when I'm under boost. I'm sure they glow because plug wires even with two heat sleeves over them get toasty over time! LOL

I've never had a header gasket blow even with all that heat and back pressure. The flanges are very thick.

I agree McJacks are high quality. I too have their shorty headers in my 67. I was very impressed when they arrived to see that not only are they metallic/ ceramic coated outside but also are copper coated inside!
Fit and finish is excellent as well!

Stahl hands down the only side pipe headers that make power. I thought they went out of business, The lady I got mine from said I got the last set.

If you want high quality, Made in the USA, and a direct bolt on/attachment to OE C2 side exhaust with zero cutting or welding then go with McJack's. Expensive compared to most others but well worth the money IMHO. C.J.

when you say bolt on to factory side pipes, is that with the shorty headers or the long tube side pipe headers, I haven’t ordered mine yet and would like to know what ones to order.

Did not see a Hooker or Doug's that exits in the direction of the factory side pipe...
Thanks

I don't think any of them will bolt up-but do go in the direction of the side pipe...

I am not sure which headers to buy for a Small Block, but the Big Block set of headers sold by McJacks, are a direct bolt-on to C2 factory side exhaust. There is no cutting or welding at all, If you are shopping for small block headers it would be best to call McJacks and make sure you are buying the correct item.

You can see the top of the McJack's headers on my car attached to OE factory side exhaust. Communication with McJacks is best over the phone. C.J.

This is what I bought. 65 - 69 Corvette Big Block 2" Primaries, Factory Cast Iron Replacements - McJacks Corvettes (vetteheaders.com)

this is exactly what I need, they will be going on my ZZ427, a little pricey but well worth it. Thank you.
