Haters gonna hate. It’s been this way on this forum with the same 10 guys since I’ve been on it. Both cars are incredible works of art, as are several other of the builders cars

They're both incredible works of engineering and craftsmanship. I'm a C2 guy through and through, so the Jeff Hayes '67 would be my choice.

Neither I can appreciate the time, effort and and skill needed to build both

I'm another neither. They are both incredible works of art built by the best of the best craftsman but only the 1% can absorb the price point without consequence. There are a C2s owned by our forum members (still out of my price range) that I would so much appreciate owning, driving, and being the care taker for that IMCO are much more bang for the buck.

Jeff Hayes is the best in the business! C2’s rule! Of course—— just an opinion! Love that car —— was bidding on it yesterday! But, $770,000. No!

So what’s the chances that these cars will ever see the road again?

I think many people fail to realize that these high prices for Restomods (IMO) is partially due to the high labor rates these shops charge, the hours required, partially due to the cost of the components needed including the base car.
that’s not to say these cars aren’t full of excellent craftsmanship.
I personally think the overall car should flow well together…. Keeping the body shape is great, but wheel choice and some of the interior mods often makes these look like abominations IMO (I don’t mind larger diameter wheels, but certain styles just don’t look right on a C2).
That said, I like the interior on the 67. Still has the flavor of a C2, but with nice touches…
$700,000+, and they don’t even have windshield wipers ( but still have the stems through the cowl grills).

The Kindig CF1 looks spectacular in person. The Jeff Hayes car was ok, but I believe there were a couple other C2 restomods that were of similar quality or even looked better. Forum member Ken Sungela's cars were of the same quality. I never heard of Jeff Hayes until his other car sold last year. I believe he put straight axles on both in the back...that just seems to take away from the car unless is a drag racer. By the way there must have been 25 or more custom frame C1s and C2s there. All, sold for a lot of money, but the stock ones went pretty good too. Its wild to see that a Blazer or Bronco can sell for more than a classic Corvette, but that's how it is. Funny thing about those restomods, prices seem to continue to be good 20 years later.

I guess the “FAD” continues.

The 1967 with the hood scoop and side pipes is hard to beat. A design well ahead of its time. A head turner always.

It’s no different than buying and selling artwork (picaso, Monet, etc) when you get to this level of work. They won’t be driven and will be trailered to every show and auction and put on a turntable at someone’s garage mahal for him to show all of his friends. Is there anything wrong with that? Absolutely not.
My vote would be the c2 though.

2023 Restomod of the Year finalist
QUOTE: "I guess the “FAD” continues."
It's NOT a "FAD"......It's only a short matter of time before the next generation of Resto-Mods will be dropping in " TESLA ELECTRIC MOTORS " in our C1-C2 Corvettes. The prices of ot theses new Resto-Mods will hit the Strato-Sphere. Way out of my price range, but not for many of our members.

They are certainly both works of art, and as in all customs, subject to each individuals’ tastes and preferences. Incredible skill and craftsmanship, though.
But I’m another neither. I just prefer the cars the way GM made them.
