Default PCv question

When I bought my 63 it came with a 1970 350 motor and 250 hp 65 Corvette intake. I always have liked the look of the aluminum script valve covers but needed later ones for the pcv system. The way its hooked up is a pcv valve in the right valve cover connected to the lower rear of my Edelbrock #1406 600 cfm carb. My intake has the original style oil filler tube on it and I ran a hose from the fitting to the bottom of the air cleaner.

It didn't occur to me until today that I could run a hose from the oil fill tube to the front carb. pcv fitting and put and in-line pcv valve in the hose. Then I could block off the rear pcv port and use the earlier script valve covers with no pcv or oil fill fittings. Am I on the right track or am I forgetting something?

That is only half of the system. Your still need a port from the valve cover to air cleaner base unlike 327 blocks that have that port on the back of the block

Ok, so it sounds like I have it set up properly as it is. I don't think I can use valve covers with no fittings on a 350 block.

Yes you can, this is what I did. Had the fill tube in front same as you, then machined a hole thru the manifold into the lifter valley. Installed a Moroso baffle bushing and made my own baffle under the manifold. Works great, uses less oil, and was able to use my favorite valve covers.

Great idea! Now to get up the gumption to remove the intake.
