I never thought it possible but a supposedly rebuilt instrument cluster appears to be having an issue. The speedometer is reading correctly but the odometer is way off.....like 500%
Anybody ever experience this?
I'd like to know the answer as well. My speed is perfectly accurate, but the odo rack up miles 2 to 1. Trip meter is the same as odo. Every mile I drive registers 2 on the odo.
I had mine be rebuilt/recalibrated last Fall (CSof Md-West), and no issues…
well, I did need to change the gear in the transmission (5-speed swap)…
but otherwise my Speedo and Odo seem to be in sink . Got about 190 miles on it since the rebuild. Everything was set to zero, after testing it came to me with 30 miles on the odometer, but the tripodometer was reset to zero…
still a 30 mph difference.
the Speedo is magnetic, but the odometer is gear driven off the Speedo, so not sure how it could be off much?
My problem is bad too. Had cluster restored and now when I reset the trip odometer for every tenth of a mile on the trio odometer it puts a miles on the total miles driven. fortunately this problem only lasts for 1.3 miles then both the trip odometer and total miles odometer quit working.
