I wanted to add, using a large sheet of cardboard (55” or > flat screen tv) works great! I can dive under and crawl on my elbows and toes to the tranny in a few seconds and a few seconds on my back to get out from underneath by grabbing crossmember and then rear lower control arms. Note, I don’t use the spare tire tub.

Cool! Happy that setup is working for you, but for me, at 77, crawling on my elbows and toes is no longer an option.

I understand, you do have 13 years on me. I wear a long sleeve t-shirt (eliminates cardboard burns on elbows) and steel toe boots to make crawling easier. The cardboard does reduces the transfer of body heat to the concrete, softer than the concrete to move around, and makes it easier to see/find dropped nuts, washers & lock washers.

It is tall enough to easily use a creeper also.

I have found cardboard to make a HUGE difference even if I have to Kneel down ( which is hard to do anymore) working on my car... I save all of the large pieces of carboard to use for under car work.....
