Today I ordered the Keisler 5 Speed OD kit. It will ship in about 2 weeks. I plan to photo document the install. Check it out...Sweeeeeeeeeet..

and any one else that wants to join in let me know.... My Friend Bruce has Graciously offered his lift to do the job. First he has to get his BB body and dolly off the top section of the lift and onto his frame.

But it should be a fun day in the 3 and 1/2 car garage BEER AND VETTES :lol:

The install will be done on a lift in a civilized maner. We will not ...I repeat...will not crawl around on the Floor..

Did you get any group discount on your purchase??? Did you order any options such as the new shifter??? Polymer mounts???

I am also interested in just how easy the swap will be.

I will order one of these new 5 speeds ASAP.

Got to tell you this, the last time I lifted a tranny into a 63 Coupe with my buddy, while we were wrasseling it into the bell housing his hand slipped and the tranny came crashing down on my face, shearing of my two front teeth.... that was almost 20 years ago.... :eek: Some buddy.... so I have given up being the "Transmission Lift Boy".... :yesnod:

I did talk to Mr. Keisler yesterday, and he has agreed to take $100 off the price and to add in the shifter at no charge. We needed to get over 10 confirmed orders in order to get anymore discount. Still given the fact that the Richmond 6 speed alone is $2,800 and it only has one overdrive gear, I think this is the better deal by far.... :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

:cheers: Congrats your living out some of my dreams. Once we got the wife's car with the T-56 I realized what is possible. I asked keislerauto if it would fit the 58-62 body and they said they would need a car there to find out. I really don't need it in my car because I really don't travel more than a few hours or few hundred miles. Even if I was going on a long trip it's so easy just to sway out the pumpkin. I knew once we got the Camaro my car would start seeing less weekend time. We can't fit the family in it. I have actually though about putting in my road pumpkin and using it to go to work this summer. Good luck with the install.

Lets see.....3 hour Air plane ride....Drop Tranny ... Drink Beer... Rest... Drink Beer.... Andy Lifts Tranny Up and In.... Drink Beer.. Kid_Again Serves Martini's In Tux...Finish tranny install... Take Andy to Dentist and then to Chiropeactor for back adjustment ...back to airport and home by 10Pm in Calif.

Count me in on the 5 forward gear club!!! I just ordered a Keisler kit including new clutch and pressure plate and a free shifter!!!

Congrats Goodname.....Welcome to the "5FWDG" Club. Looks like you'll be having a TRANNY :party:

My clutch is a GM OEM which was installed a few years ago. It has only gone about 3000 miles. Still operates nice and smoothe with no chatter. So I did't go for a new clutch just the disc. :cheers:
