Are you having problems running high compression on pump gas?
I'm thinking of putting my old 11:1 comp small block back in my '64. It's been sitting since '81, so I thought I'd freshen it up and add a new solid cam. Is anyone having problems running pump gas on their engines?

As Kid says it depends on your timing. It also depends on your cam specs and you dont mention what youre running. For a given compression ratio more overlap has the effect of making the engine more tolerant of todays gas.

No. I run Amoco Ultimate (92 or 93) in my 70 350/350 with stock timing. No problems, but I don't stand on it very often. It will not tolerate 87 at all. CR is 11:1.

My '64 327/300 has been running fine with 94, no knocks, no pings, no errors.
