My 64 lives here in paradise

64's or any other mid year, for that matter, are rarer than a hula skirt on a tiger shark. Haven't seen another mid year in ages.

I wonder how many posters from 10 years ago are still alive?
Tom Piper?
How do the newbies find these old threads?

...another one lives and thrives here in Phoenix. Born November 5th, 1963. It has the very, extremely rare front disc brake option.

Default Why?

Why would a 10 year old post start up again? Why not just start a new one?

Because maybe data is more organized and/or accessible. My guess would be to add up all the REGISTERED '64s in the world (USA plus a few hundred in Europe, Asia, etc.) and add maybe 30% for the ones off the road for a reasonable ballpark number.

Unless somebody else has done the math, that's 45 years. I've had mine since December '66, so 47 years in my case.

'64 saves labor over later years by having the correct fender gills, just cut 'em out. But AIR GS'x don't have airvents in the roof behind the doors? That might make it a toss-up, '64 vs '66 COUPES, but '64 convertibles are home free!

(I'm assuming '63s and '67s are too valuable to customize?)

Plus it's gone from " how many survivive?" To "who has owned the longest?"

Let's start a new thread or 2.
