Default Advice on 327 engine rebuilder

Hi, I am considering buying a short block from "Classic Engine Company" in Wisconsin. Has anyone on this forum had experience with them ? any advice would be appreciated.

Regards, dave

I bought a correct block for my '66 from them. Not cheap, but very knowledgeable about Vettes, and they bent over backwards to get me a good motor. Block plus crank and rods was $1045 to my door. By the time I got the correct heads, and had everything professionally rebuilt, I had nearly $3k in my motor.

If you don't care about the correct casting number and date, there are a lot of cheaper alternatives. I am selling a complete rebuilt '67 Vette 327 with 462 heads for $1500.

Hi Gary, Thanks for the info. I thought they were right on top of things when I talked to them but theres no substitute to talking to a hobbiest thats been there.

Thanks again, Dave
