Greetings my fellow Vette enthusiats. After much debate, I am looking to go with the Laguna Blue from 66. Will likely take this to auction when done and will put on a few miles....Schott rims, turbines 19s all the way around on a street shop chasis and LT4 supercharged....any hard critiques on the laguna blue?
Finally got to a paint decision and will do dark blue leather interior for the 67 restomod. Street shop frame and LTV4.....plan is to bring to Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale in Feb 27 and should have it completed this summer. Paint underway Once complete we are off to assembly
Ok... you asked. That color for me doesn't match the price you'll need to ask. It doesn't scream SPECIAL enough.... for me. Too understated. Black with red interior I'd take a second look. Larry
There are so many shades of dark blue out why stick to a factory color from a previous year? I know because you like it and it's your car so your choice. Since you asked I agree with the previous post. If your building a high end restomod an exotic color name sounds more up scale IMCO. This '67 restomod is a vintage Ferrari dark blue with a dark red interior. Seems to me like it would deserve a long look. Again opinions. We all don't share the same.

I like the color on a stock 66 But on a high dollar custom car I would think a custom blend paint would be where the money is at
Admittedly, the nay sayers have me thinking on the color and that is why I put it out there....this will go to auction. I know Jeff Hayes is doing the lighter colors and while it will have a great many upgrades, not expecting anywhere near that kind of money, but do want it to pop as it is going through the auction and ideally right behind a Hayes vette. Will talk to my builder and keep thinking about the color as it is a big decision. The interior was a dark maroon with the laguna blue........thanks for the input gents!!!
Like that blue color....what year is the Ferrari color? La ferrari has a silver whichs pops...
Here's a link to the article on that '67. https://inthegaragemedia.com/1967-co...g-block-looks/
This is what the article says about the paint. "All the bodywork was then achieved at CAL Auto Creations and from here they proceeded to paint the ’vert in Sherwin-Williams Blu Scozia (a vintage Ferrari) color."
I love the build! As far as colors…. I think a classy dark blue with a light interior would be an excellent choice for it. Laguna works for me as a great Corvette color, but there are a lot of really sweet dark blues, especially on European cars. I’m a huge fan of white interiors with dark blues but some saddle or tans would be cool too.
Good luck with the choice and keep us informed. Can’t wait to see the pics. Which auction house are you considering?
Opinions are like...and here's mine:
I think a lighter/brighter color with depth looks more rich than dark colors...like light burgundy or amaranth below.
