Congrats on the new ride. I bought my car without looking at it and the two weeks after I bought it until the shipper got it here seemed like 2 months. You said initially that you were lining up shipping. I used a guy that you call direct and he carries one car at a time. He did a fantastic job, sent pictures daily and updated me on where he was and when he was leaving various places. Would use him again in a heart beat so if you are still looking for someone let me know.

Thanks for the well wishes, and the shipper info. Reliable is picking it up today. Hopefully it’ll be here early next week. Can’t wait to see it! Will update with more photos when it gets here.

For me C2 has to be a Coupe! Why I found a coupe.

Buddy in high schools college had a rag top-leaked water and air, wind noise(well the solid lifter 427 and side pipes covered most of it) . College roommate a rag top Mustang same deal.

It’s here! Fun car so far. But the fuelie thing has me intrigued enough to look at a few things. Rear axle ratio being one of them. I was doing 45mph home and rpm’s were about 2250. I think that equates to 4.11, but not 100% sure. Rear axle code and date are CE 9 20 63. I’m pretty sure that’s not right in the date code, but what about the CE leading ID? I can’t seem to decipher this code anywhere. Suspension was all replaced (new coils up front) so I won’t have evidence of a green stripe to figure it out. But the front sway bar specs out to 15/16 with calipers.

From what I can find CE is a '63-'64 Positraction 4:11 code with IRS - CE was also used in '62 but that's a straight axle configuration. The 9 20 63 fits the '64 model window for Sept. 20th 1963.

Let’s see, Goldlines, steelies with caps, Classic Auto Ait AC, and Silver Sport Tremec 5spd conversion on deck. Pulling the motor next week. Will also be rewiring the car for updated systems and EFI. I’ll be using the Edelbrock Pro-Flo along with a Holley tank and in tank pump. For the harness, I’m going with AAW Classic Update. I ran the buffer over it but need to do it again. Heavy scratches all over. I’m probably going to have to repaint the hood and think I might go with the correct BB hood for 65 instead of the Stinger. Although it does look pretty good with it. More to come!

cheers
Dave

Nice looking car, something about a green Sting Ray! Mine came with the stock hood, and a cowl induction (SS396 style) hood. I much prefer the stinger like yours.

My first 63 coupe had a C-3 scoop like that . But the car had been beat to death.
It had a BB in it at one time as the front crossmember had the damper slot cut into it .
When I got it it had a 283 and powerglide in it .

Adding the 5spd, EFI, and AC all at once. It’s just not busy enough to do one thing at a time, so might as well do everything at once! interestingly, my car has the 461 heads. Motor looks clean inside, no sludge or gunk. It was heavily oil covered with leaking valve cover gaskets and the oil pan gasket along with a few intake bolts not coated with sealant prior to installing. Lots of seepage. More to come!
