I’m hoping so! I didn’t want to go down the LS route, mainly, since this engine is in pretty good shape and runs great. This is the Classic Auto Air Kit. Pretty slick, but the directions leave you having to read them a few times to figure out what exactly they are wanting you to do. Not overly clear.
Well it’s complete (for now ). Very happy with the 5spd and the ProFlo4 system. The AC was a bit of a pain and I had to do a few modifications for an inoperative AC switch, but it all worked out. Putting the evaporator core in was a real chore. Edelbrock instructions are a little unclear on tuning, but a quick call to the help line and I got it worked out. Runs great! Now to go put some miles on it. I did add an electric fan to the condenser and as you see, stock steelies and Goldlines. I’m going to have to replace that side exhaust with a quieter one. They’re basically straight pipes. Just way too loud for my liking, but that’s just me. Really happy with how it came out. Time to sell!
I am late to this party. Beautiful car! The seatbelts say early 66. I have a clone of your car except black. I have a stinger hood, PW/PB/PS. I added Vintage Air and a Tremec. I also have a 4:11 rear and bolt on knock offs. You will love the overdrive on the highway. Keep the pictures coming. Jerry
Thanks guys! I did this conversion (the 5spd) in my old 63 roadster and loved it. So far, no issues. The AC really cools that cabin down for sure! I’m happy with all the work so far. Just in time for summer heat.
The engine bay really cleaned up nicely too. A few more housekeeping items to do
Let’s see, Goldlines, steelies with caps, Classic Auto Ait AC, and Silver Sport Tremec 5spd conversion on deck. Pulling the motor next week. Will also be rewiring the car for updated systems and EFI. I’ll be using the Edelbrock Pro-Flo along with a Holley tank and in tank pump. For the harness, I’m going with AAW Classic Update. I ran the buffer over it but need to do it again. Heavy scratches all over. I’m probably going to have to repaint the hood and think I might go with the correct BB hood for 65 instead of the Stinger. Although it does look pretty good with it. More to come!
cheers
Dave
