OOPs! on 3883948
According to Cars and Parts Chevy V-8 Engine Casting Numbers1955-93. That casting was used on the following:
66-68 427 Passenger Cars with 385 & 390 HP
66-68 396 Pass, Chevelle
67 427 Corvette "LATE 67 390 HP"
67-68 396 Camaro
With a late 1966 date that particular one was probably not originally on a Corvette. If numbers and dates don't matter, it will function just fine. Hope this helps!

The "NCRS 1953-1972 Corvette Specifications Guide" on page 66 also IDs the 3883948 cast iron intake for 1967 Corvettes, Late 390 horsepower 427 Engine. Is it wrong also? If so it's not the first time or place. I believe sometimes late changes or introductions did not get listed in all documents just like this manifold, I believe, was also used on late 1965 Chevrolet full size cars with the new 396 motor.

Who knows for sure?
"The pen is mightier than the sword". We buy these book and profess them to be the bible ,right? My reference book and provette 67 both say the same thing. Are they both wrong? How is one to ever know the truth?

I have a real deal 67 Corvette 427-390 intake in the garage, it is part # 3886948, not 3883948 and also has HOLLEY cast on one of the front intake runners. Other than the obvious difference in the plenum the runners also look to be a little different between Holley intake and the 3883948 Q-jet intake. I wish I had Colvin's book handy.

1967 427 390hp intake 3886948 dated D 28 7
Since there is a debate over the correctness of this manifold for anyone in doubt who must have the correct manifold this may be what you are looking for. It is correct for a 67 Sting Ray built after April 28, 1967. We had to close our restoration shop for health reasons and this is some of what is left.
If you have questions call me at 714.401.5234 otherwise buy the one listed in this thread - it's a great price and I'm sure it will work just fine.

Wow , This is one of the reasons for the true survivors. I'm sure some one here has an unmolested 390 67 car . It's unfortunate that during the early craze of "whats it worth" that the low horse cars suffered and became restamped hi hp cars. I used to say to my friend who is into 69 camaros "there are more Z/28's now then there was in 69. You can't always go buy the judging manual. Back in the day they said a 56 engine was painted chevy orange. Look at a real car if you can or find a take off from the seventies or earlier. The answer lies there. Good luck.

I just bought an intake like this believing it was correct for a 68 corvette because when I looked it up it 427 390hp passenger car. please correct me if I'm wrong is a 68 corvette not a passenger car.
Thanks Ray

If you happen to see this post, do you still have the photos that were in the craigslist link? From 56early's reply, it sounded like you posted photos of a survivor example.
All of the examples of GM 3883948 intake manifold that I have been able to find pictures of are for use with Quadra-Jet carburetors. It's unclear from your post above, are you saying that 1967 Corvettes built after April 28th with the L36 engine option rolled out of St. Louis with Q-Jet carburetors on the GM 3883948 intake manifold?

in 1974 i traded my 1965 coupe 327/300 powerglide AC PS PB PW White leather (and blue) interior and 1000.00 for a 1967 coupe 427 390 HP.
it was an unmolested car with a q-jet carb
