Default WTB 1960 Generator pulley

Well, I have the tach drive generator and what I thought was the correct pulley BUT apparently there should be a gap (offset) between the pulley and the fan. So if you have an example of the correct one for sale let me know OR if you think I am being stupid and the one I have without the offset is okay then tell me that also. For a 1960 non FI corvette!

Postage would be to either Ca or to Qld, Australia if not too rediculous.

As long as you don't have any bad alignment problems with your Generator belt, you won't otherwise notice a difference. They are reproduced as well in case you really want one. I see plenty of cars running the way you are with no ill effects. I'd save my money. Pilot Dan

Thanks Pilot Dan,

I was hoping that would be the case and I'll see soon enough once I fit the generator to see if I have any belt alighnment problems. I have seen that they are reproduced but the price of an off-set pulley is twice that of one that isn't :-( . Hopefully there is some lateral adjustment between the generator/mount/rams horn to move the gen forwards or backwards to compensate for alignment issues.

Thanks again

The diameter is what's critical -- if that's off then your charging rate won't be correct and your tachometer will be off.

Default Correct pulley

I will say that if you have the correct top and bottom pulley's ,then you will also need the correct generator pulley for the alignment to be right, there is not enough movement in the generator to get the alignment,I have been through it already.and don't forget the lower spacer either !

Yes 3 5/8 pulley diameter. You can elongate the 4 holes slightly in the flat plate that mounts the Generator to the exhaust manifold to give yourself some adjustment for better alignment if necessary.

So, does anyone have a 3 5/8 offset low HP gen pulley for sale? And to further the discussion the diameter of the main engine pulley must also be important as this too will change gen pulley speed and alter rpm on the tacho ...... what dia is the right dia for this then? I have to apparent 1960 year correct main pullies and they different diameters.
