Default 1965 Corvette 327

Freshly Rebuilt 327 from 1965 Corvette. Originally a 300 HP Motor Built to L-79 specs. The block is out of a 65 Corvette with a Build Date of 12/64. The Block is Casting Number 3782870 which shows up as a 1962-1967 2 Bolt Main 327 Block. The Date Code on the back shelf of the block is K 21 4 (November 21, 1964). The Pad Reads S104352FII27HF. The FII27HF is the Flint Mich. assembly date for the block. The 11 is November and 27 it the day in Nov. The HF is for a 327/300 hp with Manual Transmission. The Heads are 461 Castings with a casting date of K 24 4 (November 24, 1964).

This 327 is specified for the 4352nd 1965 Corvette built. If someone reads this post and they have the Corvette with V.I.N. 194675S104352 for a convertible or 194375S104352 for a coupe, this is the original motor.

The Small Journal Forged Steel Crankshaft is original to the motor as are the Connecting Rods. The crankshaft was polished and the rods have been cleaned, magafluxed, inspected and reconditioned with new 11/32" ARP rod bolts. New main bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings, brass freeze out plugs, oil pump and screen were installed. Pistons are TRW L2166N .030 Over Forged Pistons. Speed Pro Chrome Moly Rings were used. The Camshaft and Lifters is a Comp Cams Magnum 280 Hydraulic Cam and Lifters Set. The Heads have Screw In Studs and Guide plates with 2.02 Intake and 1.60 Exhaust Stainless Steel Valves that were treated to a 3 angle valve job. Also installed are Z/28 high performance .550 lift valve springs.
As for the Pushrods, they are the Crane One Piece Chrome Moly Steel Pushrods with the ends flared, not pressed on. The Rocker Arms are Crane Stamped Rocker Arms. Timing Chain is an Edelbrock Steel Double Chain and Sprocket Kit. A Factory Winters Aluminum Intake Manifold 3844461 sits on top of the motor. An ARP Bolt Kit and Fel-Pro Gasket Kit was used for the build.

The engine is fully rebuilt and has never been run. I will post the numbers on the TRW Pistons. All I am looking for in return is a 3970010 4 Bolt Block with a 1182 Forged Crankshaft, Pink Rods and TRW Forged Pistons. Edelbrock heads would be nice, but a rebuilt set of Double Hump Heads (291s) built just like mine will work just fine. The motor is in Long Island, New York and if anyone wants to come out to take a look, you are welcome to do so. I will post photos once the deep freeze ends. I am asking $4500.00 or a trade for a comparable 350. Thank You for the ad.

What a fantastic opportunity for the owner of Vette #104352. This should not be a hard guy to find.

And well worth the effort to find, as it substantially increases the value of this motor.

After carefully looking at the engine suffix code, it is HF ~ 327/300 AFB Ix4BC & Manual Transmission.

$4500 and the price is negotiable. I can sell as a long block as well. This motor was originally going into my 55, so the oil pan, balancer and valve covers are useless to a 1965 Corvette owner.

Only 190 off to work for me. Actually went and looked, knew it would be close. Ron B.

Hi Ron,
Is my 327 190 before or after your V.I.N?

Anyone who is interested in this engine is welcome to come to my home in Long Island to look at it. The pistons are new. The engine has never been fired. I will even drop the pan when you come over.

I have no problem installing this engine in my 57 Chevy, but I wanted to give a 65 Corvette owner the opportunity to install a date correct 327 in their car.

I talked to this gentleman quite a bit, and he's a real honest guy.
