496 stroker $4500
I have a 496 stroker [actually a 489]
Built by my professional engine builder, famous for Big Block Chevys
454 4.25 stroke + .030 over = 489
[commonly referred to as a 496 .060 over most 496's are actually 489's]
GM Open Chamber Iron 'smog' heads -- runs on super unleaded.
Eagle 'forged' rotator with H beam rods
Flat tappet cam.
Every moving part was new.
Ran it in my street car. [1969 GTO] Stock 400 back in now.
2500 street miles.
Sitting on the floor in heated storage Oil pan to intake. balancer to flex plate. Could not build this for anywhere near $4500 I'm asking.
Won't ship.
located in Western Mass.
Pittsfield halfway between Albany NY and Springfield Ma. Near Lebanon Valley Speedway. Musclepalooza..

No dyno in my neck of the woods.
Perfect lopey idle, [750/800 rpm ]engine built for low end drivability. Starts perfect hot or cold w/ 36 degrees of advance. Had 830 cfm DP Holley [no choke] because It was what I had. Never ran over 200 degrees even with A/C on.
Originally had a Holley Street Avenger 850 but change to the DP [BIG gain]
Originally built with a hairy Lunati cam as recommended by UD Harold [Team Chevelle Member and Lunati cam designer] but I want to move power band down to be more street friendly so we put in an LS6 style cam [have to check with builder to refresh my memory on what we exactly used]
Great street engine with good street manners and blows the tires off upon request.

Still here waiting for you, I'll sell it for less if that is what it takes...you could NEVER build it this cheap. Looks stock...slam it in and go!
