RARE CRANE “Super Port Flow”BBC Heads 858 Castings!
A little background on these cylinder heads. These heads were ported by Charlie Kulp. Who was Charlie Kulp? Charlie was married to Harvey Crane’s daughter (Crane Cams). He went to work for Harvey porting cylinder heads.
Later in life he worked here in New Jersey porting for Pat Musi. He passed away about four years ago. In between he ported heads for some of the best racers in all forms of motorsports.
Remember when American Motors went factory super stock Racing with the AMX in SS/C, the cars had ported heads from the factory. Charlie was the one who ported them. Years later when asking him about it he would say “I would look up from grinding and see pallets and pallets and pallets of heads!
These heads are casting #3873858 dated B-25-6 and D-2-6
are so nice they can pass for NEW!
You could use these heads on a stock looking 66 big block Vette or 375 hp Chevelle for some fun. Or that newer drag class: Factory Appearing Small Tire.
In fact, if you can get a hold of the must read book by Marty Schorr:
MOTION PERFORMANCE Tales of a muscle car builder, you will see
Joel Rosen would use CRANE “super port flow” cylinder heads on many of his builds. If you are fortunate enough to own a mid-year Big Block or Motion car adding these highly sought after heads would not only add authenticity and value, imagine the performance!
These casting with high compression and long cam will support 700HP
Ready to go, New Manley high-performance swirl polished valves,New valve seals, New machined valve keepers, New steel valve retainers, New valve springs(for small roller)and new ARP rocker studs.

Thanks 66racer, These Crane cylinder heads are and amazing find.
I advertise these heads in as new condition, however, I showed some engine builders and they believe they are Never used New Old Stock based on how clean the water jackets are and lack of witness marks on the head bolt bosses and assembled with new modern components, Manley swirl polished valves, ARP rocker studs, Viton seals etc.
