I have access to a 1957 283 long block, it belongs to a friend and rebuilt approximately 10 years ago, but not installed/run.
Casting #3731548 = 283 CI
Casting date K 14 6 = Nov 14 '56
Build/assembly date F1115FG = Nov 15 '56
I don't have the head numbers now, but the dates are K __'56. Will have numbers later.
Head castings = 3740997 on each
F111FG = 283/245 HP w/2x4 w/PG trans
He is asking $2200 OBO
Any interested persons contact me via PM for more details. The engine is in Southern MD.
