Default Does your E-Brake work?

If so how well? I have.. maybe a 10 degree incline on my driveway and my E-brake wont hold the car? Should'nt it work better than this? Some times is a real pain to start the car on a incline without rolling into something.

I was able to tighten mine a little bit to get better grip, there is an adj under the car just before the cable branchs to the 2 tires.

I used Stainless shoes on mine, before reading that you shouldn't. Seems the Stainless Steel flexes more than it should, causing the brake shoe to bend and not hold as well as it should.

My Ebrake does hold, but not well.

Holds very well. New stainless hardware & cable, steel shoes. Long install/adjustment process, but worth it to me.

Lets say the car is parked on an incline or downward sloping hill. To start the car I need to have one foot on the clutch and one on the gas.
With the clutch in the car will roll, this is bad becasue I might roll into something. If the parking /E -brake works I wont roll into anything and car start the car with out juggling my feet around.

On my 81 they work. Just takes a bit of adjusting to get them so that they don't drag too much and also work well. If you want them to work you need to make sure that all the parts in the wheels move freely and aren't rusted or cruded up. Dito for the cables.

On my 82 Bubba (previous owner) cut the cable to install the exhaust. It's on the list to fix.

Mine works great, to hold the cupholders.

Actually mine worked well enough to lock up the tires, until the cable broke.
Have a new cable, but never got it installed.

Mine works. Spent an evening at Christmas vacation adjusting them. They hold when the car is idling and the transmission is pulled into drive.

I thought the Corvette E-Brake stories were only a myth like Bigfoot or the Lochness Monster. You mean to tell me that that center handle isn't an "Oh sh*t handle" used for hard cornering?

STW!

Most of these didn't work when the cars were new from GM.

I will have to check mine the next time I take it out. But since we are getting 3 inches of rain over the weekend I will have to wait until Monday.
