Advice please what i a '77 worth
I am a C4 owner that suffers form the fact that my wife has adopted the '88 vert.
so I'm now looking for a C3.
I have come across a '77 with the L48 engine, manual trans, power windows, AC.
All original with all orgiginal documents and service history
everything seems to be working
2 owners
38K miles
It has a number of stone chips and a minor rear bumper scar so it should
be repainted
Other wise is excellent shape ocnsidering the age
Any thoughts on value?
What special things if any should I be checking on a C3 prior to making an offer?

Spend some time researching the C3 aerchives on buying a vette. Hopefully they're working? Price depends on frame condition, options, general shape. I would call Brian Bair and buy his video it is very good on going over vettes. Get it up in the air and look over everything. Mileage doen't matter when it comes to 28 year old orignal rubber parts and metal. Ball park on late C3's $3,000-$12,500.00. All depends on the individual car and how hot you are for it.
Good luck and don't rush in.

I think most '77's with the L48 motor go for $4k to $7K. That's with the usual non-working A/C, tach, clock, etc. But you're describing a low mileage car with A/C. Those two features are worth a lot. If the A/C works and its got a nice interior/nice paint job, its probably worth $9K to $12K.

thanks guys.
I thought I had posted in C3 General... don't know how it ended up here.
I had looked at the buy sell section to see what people were asking but there is always a gap as you know between the ask and the sale price

The prices the other guys listed are pretty accurate, but make sure you check that car out first or take it to a Vette Specialist for an evaluation.
The frame is one of the most important things to check.
If you can't tell by sight I suggest buying a magnotometer to measuer the density of the metal. I think Corvette Central sells them for $12 bucks. Its called "Spot-Rot" or something like that. You're looking at about $10K if you have to replace a frame.

Thanks guys....
Well I saw her tonight....
I guess one man's treasure is another man's trash.
stress cracks on hood, back deck, B pillars, rock chips every where,
a chunk out of the drivers door, nose and rear bumper, non functioning tach and, oil pressure gauge AC didn't work, Corvette wink, heavily rusted frame, my wife's comment was if that engine hasn't seen 238,000 miles ( it read and he claimed 38,000) I'd be surpirsed....
I could go on and on... $#K would have been too much for it.
thanks for your advice. I'm still on the hunt
