Default Boston MFA Car Exhibit

This is for all of the Boston area forum members. Make sure that you go to see the Ralph Lauren car exhibit at the MFA. No, there aren't any Vettes in the show, but there are 16 unbelivable cars on display. I went to the exhibit last night, which was the first of 4 'hoods up' nights - all of the cars had the engines exposed. I ended up taking 155 pictures of the cars, and we spent ~1.5 hours looking over the cars.

If memory serves, there were 4 vintage Ferraris, 2 Jaguars, 2 Mercedes, 3 Bugattis, a Bentley, and Alfa Romeo, 2 Porsches, and of course the McLaren F1. All of them are in pristine condition, and I guess Ralph Lauren likes to drive them around - no trailer queens (except for the Alfa temporarily - no engine). It was nice seeing a video of a Ferrari ripping down a country road while standing 2 feet away from the car.

Since some of the cars are so rare that only 1 or 2 exist you're not likely to see one ever again, unless of course you're a buddy of Ralph.

Rick B.

P.S. I checked - they didn't leave the keys in any of them!

I heard about this exhibit coming up. I'll try to catch it.

A buddy at work went ... I recall the tickets weren't cheap.
I used to get free passes when I worked for MIT - now I just get paid.
How much did it cost you ?

Tickets are $22 each and the audio tour is $6. Considering the rarity and quality of the cars I didn't think the price was excessive. Oh, there is this other building attached to the exhibit space that has a lot of paintings and dead pharoahs and stuff that you can go into with the same ticket.
