ME Sold my 1969 Monaco Orange conv 427/435
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I sold my car today, this car was perfect and when I sold it the gentlemen who lives in Iowa, could not get the car till the winter past especially where I live in Maine. Anyway, I sold it because felt I was not using it and it just sat in my heated barn, for 6 months a year, and then the other 6 months I most of driven it 200-300 miles. So I thought just to sell it
what is your opinion buying a 06 or 07 Z06, I say 07 becasue of the unknown bugs in the first run cars. and enjoying it driving it to work etc
or owning a classic which you mostly enjoy looking at, and not driving so much, because you are concerned that it with need another repair.
I am sad that I sold it, but also hopeful of getting a new one instead
your opinion

Good reason to sell. Hopefully, the new owner will drive it more.
I understand that the new car is a very good car, but it probably lacks the soul of your '69...
The 07 will sit for six months at a time, as well... It will break, too. How much is a '07 going to run you? $50k? More? It's a fair bet that owning the new Vette will cost you more over time than the old one did/would.

I have to agree with you on going with the '06. As much as I love my 72 vert. one drive in a fellow members '03 Z06 made me want one. He dirves the Z06 daily, up in north Toronto. One day he was on the highway going 85 mph, hit ice and the electronics took over and straightened him out. I think that you will love your new vette and get more use out of it then your C3. Good luck and enjoy.

Get the 06 and start enjoying it. It will be under warranty, if it develops too many problems, trade it in on a new one at the same dealer ( they couldn't give you a bad deal, since you bought it from in the first place). If the 06 is good, you can just keep inproving it with mods.

Now you got me thinking (a scary thing). Would be nice to take the Vette out for a couple of hundred mile trip without having to make sure I got half of Snap On along.

in c3's your plan about later is better isn't true
