Default looking at a 68 coupe, frame question

Ok the car is in very nice shape I checked the numbers, frame, birdcage and all I even rmoved the kick panel and then silver plate on the door sill and birdcage and all has no rust. Frame looks great a little surface rust here and there nothing bad, but on the frame rails where the holes are if you put your finger in there theres some rust flakes. I assume thats ok? i mean these cars are 30+ years old your going to have a little something like that right? besides that it looks great but should those flakes bother me or not.

Are you sure it is rust flakes, and not just debris in there?

Default looking at a 68 coupe, frame question

Look at the overall frame in question. I had a 63, I went at it with a hammer, and sheets of rust hit the floor! The frame was still solid though! A screwdriver works great at probing around on the frame. The rear kick up area in front of the rear tires is usually the first area of concern. Some flaking rust is fine.
