Idea for a 79 rear end mod
I'm a long way from even considering doing this, but I'd like to do something different with the rear bumper of my 79. It seems the 3 available commercial options are stock, 80-82 style, and the C4 style.
After perusing many pictures in the throne room, I had my son photo-chop this picture together, and danged if it doesn't look pretty good.

Of course there would be a lot of fabrication required but maybe some enterprising vendor who actually knows how to make these things will get interested.

You know..... that aint half bad.
you would of course have to remove all the heavy internal bumper parts to keep it as short as you have shown.
Still an interesting idea - and a decent photochop too

It looks very nice. ......
About 15 years ago, I had a 76 that I put a custom rear bumper on. It was a restyling of the Ferrari type rears. It looked much like that minus the bumperettes. I sold the car in 1990 and the owner still has it on the road. I was told that my custom bumper was one of 5 made.
If you know someone who works in a boat shop where they make molds, they could easily build a mold any way that you want. The problem is that the molds consume a lot of labor. But if you are willing to learn to make a mold and do it yourself, you could do it.
