Default Intake manifold gasket job is done

Well I finally finished the new intake manifold gasket job on my '82 and I DID change the oil after getting a little water in it. See http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...post1550609776
Had to repull the distributor, find DTC and drop distributor back in (took awhile) and set the timing, she runs good and the first thing I noticed was that it runs quieter and smoother, the same thing happened with my sons car when he changed his intake manifold gasket a few weeks ago, he started the car and it definitely runs smoother and quieter. Problem is I don't have as much "rumble" as before so now I'm thinking of changing the cat to a high flow and the mufflers to Dynomax or something (looking for suggestions) I like that strong low rumble sound.
Maybe I should do side pipes???? Thanks to all of you that steered me in the right direction during this project.

Replaced the smog pump today, kept the same AIR control valve, and you're right! I didn't think of that, side pipes = no cat, darn it! Thanks for reminding me.

Well...you could bolt-up the stock exhaust every two years for testing...

Or move.

Or buy a pre-75 Vette.
