Default Reason to save stock radiator?

Hey guys, I am in the middle of a engine swap and I just pulled the 24 year old radiator out of my car. It doesn't look too bad, but I have a Dewitts ready to go in when the other engine is in. Is there any reason I would want to save the old radiator? It has some scale/rust/corrosion on it, but it wasn't leaking when I pulled it. I am saving everything I pull off in case someone want to take it back to stock eventually, but would they really want the old radiator? Here are shots of it:

Drop it into the trash can radar unit. Perhaps the cops can find a use for it...

If I kept all those numbers matching parts, my garage would look likie a dumpster. Future generations -- sheesh.

It can always be re-cored by a local radiator shop and then you know it will fit when/if it gets re-installed. I'd save it if you have room to store.

I still have the original radiator from my 68 427, non ac car, I now am running a 502/502 crate, same radiator, and have NEVER overheated. No special fans, in fact , Im using the oem fan/clutch. I do have an aluminum water pup, but thats it. Even with the original h2o pump, never overheated. No prob when I was running my 427 either, Still running a 160 stat, both on my 427 and 502

I dont have probs with oem radiators. They are heavy, but I dont have a reason to change out

The key is, recore it if it hasnt, and change fluid EVERY year (I do it twice a year)

I had mine re-cored when I rebuilt my car. Didn't want to hassle with aftermarket fitment, and the stock replacements all were spec'ed for automatics. This way, I have a radiator that fits, and all of the cooling capacity is used for the engine.

Default Hmm, cooling blues

Damn, I can't get my 71 454 to run at a moderate temp! I finally dropped back and punted! I ordered a DeWitts unit, I have yet to fit it, but I hope it works. I have a new stewart Alum pump too, it didn't help. I guess Texas is too hot for vettes...

I might just hold on to it then. I just have to find a place to store it, I'm almost out of room around here, too much stuf!

I've got mine in the garage with all of that other crap taking up unecessary space. I don't know why I can't bring myself to just trash it. It will never go back in, never leaked either.

Keep it and then trade it, there is probably someone out there that wants it?

I would remove the two end tanks and save them. In a few years C3's will be the most popular restored Corvette of the pack and people will want original parts. The core is probably junk, but the end tanks have features that no one will reproduce. IE Harrison logo and rib pattern. You can take it to a rad shop to have them removed or you can do it yourself with a propane torch. Just keep heating the tank until all the lead drips out, working the tank loose. You can blast the tanks clean and store them in a small box.

My Radiator is still the stock small blk that came in the car in 1969. never been recored, but looks like it had been cleaned out before I bought the car. I am running a 421 stroker with flex fan and Edlbk Alum water pump, and run my timing at 36 degrees with NO overheating problems or any leaks. I run a 160 thermo and it stays right at 160 to 170. I have hit it with a lazer heat gun and the warmest any of my readings said was 185 at the heads and they are Alum.
I say have it cleaned and use it. then you would be able to spend the extra money elsewhere.

I have a Dewitt's direct fit with dual SPALs already attached sitting in a box just waiting to drop in. I think I will hold on to the radiator and store it with the AIR pump which should be worth about 6 million dollars on eBay in 10 years
