Default Wish Me Luck, 1700 Mile Trip Through The Boonies Planned

The wife and I are taking the "Lake Superior Circle Tour" for our 10th wedding anniversary. No kids . It starts in Duluth and goes up to Thunder Bay then around the lake to Sioux St. Marie and finally through the U.P. and N. Wisconsin. We're making a slight detour to spend a couple of days on Mackinaw Island too. The plan is to leave on Memorial Day if I have my car back from the body shop (getting new bumpers and paint) and have time to align it and iron out any problems . I worked all winter putting in all new front and rear suspension, bearings, u joints, 350 H.O. crate, differential swap, etc. etc. I guess I'll find out if I have any mechanical skills. The wife isn't so sure but she's going anyway .

Gee thanks Bob. At least you've got enough confidence that I might make it that far .

Sounds like fun! I love long trips in the Vette. Sometimes I wonder what wil break, nothing does, but it makes for an adventure, at least in my mind.

That sounds like a lot of fun, but I thought there were no cars on Mackinaw isle? What are you going to do with it while you are there?

We're both looking forward to the adventure, just as long as it's isn't too much of one (hit a moose, lose a wheel, stuff like that ). I've got a tool and parts kit ready for the small stuff along with AAA for anything major as long as we're in an area where the cell phone works.
I've read the ferry companies are supposed to have "secured" parking for while you're on the island. I guess we'll see what's left when we get back just how secure it is .
I promise to take lots of pics and I'll have to figure out how to post some here. I'll make sure to include the Vette in them whenever possible . John
