Default Best trailing arm repair/rebuild options?

ok..thanks once again to my buddies on the forum..I've got two trailing arms piled up in my garage from my '71. Now, is there a consensus about the best avenue to take to get the bearings replaced/rebuilt? Anybody had good or bad experiences sending them off and having them done? my arms are pretty rusty...the passenger side has a hole rusted in the top of it.

how much can a guy expect to spend to have them done right?

Thanks again and again,
Tim (again and again)

My advice is to send them off to a pro. Van Steel in Florida and Yogi Bair in Ohio are two top notch rebuilders.

Too much to mess with, IMHO, for the average garage mechanic. You did the "general contracting" by removing them, now let a pro restore them.

Sounds like you need at least one new arm. Don't mess with the rusty one. Chuck

Another option (if you are not worried about staying totally stock) is to purchase heavy duty TAs. They are so much beefier than the originals it's amazing...
