Default Question about putting aftermarket wheels on a '79

I just bought a '79 Corvette(Red/Blk, auto.) and I also have a 2005 Corvette (Black/Grey Z51 6 speed).

I can never keep the wheels on any car I own stock.

Can I see pics of '79s(or other C3s) with aftermarket wheels or a selection of wheels that will fit!

If I am correct...none of the newer styles will fit, right?

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance!

Ahmad

Yeah, I was looking for something along the lines of 17s..no bigger than 18s. The sizes you run seem perfect! I am also looking for a rather inexpensive but classy wheel. I always swap wheels on my cars but can find reproducionts fairly cheap. I was wondering if there is any special fitments I need to watch out for. It seems anything will fit onto a C5/C6...similar to '93 and up Firebirds and Camaros.

Are these the same?

Beautiful vette you got there, btw!!

I also own a 79 and am looking to put 17x8 front and 18x9.5 in the back. http://www.aewheel.com/wheels_detail.cfm?id=71 I really like these, but i don't know how expensive they are or if they come in any other sizes other than listed, but I guess i could settle for 17x9 and 18x9's. If you find anything out, let me know.
By the way, how come you trade your vettes so much? Not saying thats bad, but most here would never sell "that one car".

I just keep my eyes and ears open and I am always on the lookout for a good buy and sell. If I find the right buyer I sell...and if I find the right deal I buy...I don't plan on doing it any certain time. You usually find the best deals when you aren't in the market!!

I know what you mean. There is a price on everything. Just depends on if someone wants it that bad.

Wheels are your first priority? You've been hanging around C5's too long

Just wait...you'll find out what I'm talking about.

You'll find a lot of C3s with 17x8 American Racing TTIIs. Most are using either a 255 or 245 size tires. When choosing a wheel for your C3, make sure that it will clear the calipers, some will, some won't without spacers. Depending on the tire you choose you may have to make suspension modifications so that your C3 doesn't look like a 4x4. Rod

Those look awesome. Off subject, but what brand are you rotors. They look great with the painted calipers behind those wheels.

Have you lowered your car at all. I would like a little less gap between tires and fenders.

The car actually sits higher than stock due to the lighter engine and spare removal. I am waiting on some parts before i lower it.

What is stock height because mine sits at 29" in front and 28.5" in the back with 275/60 r15 on it. Granted those are bigger tires but not THAT much bigger i don't think. You're also the one with the c5 brakes aren't you?
