Info About George Heberling? (Yellow ZL1 Original Owner)
A brief intro for those who do not know:
George Heberling was the Corvette plant manager at St. Louis in the late 1960's. Since he got to drive a company car, he chose the Corvette with the ZL1 racing package and every other option he could get. The car was painted yellow with the black surround stripe on the front fenders.
Heberling logged about 2000 miles on the car before being transferred to another position. The Corvette is now in the collection of Roger Judski following its purchase from US Marshalls at an auction of property seized by the DEA in a drug raid.
Does anyone know what happened to George Heberling? Is he still living? I have searched all over the internet and information is scarce at best. An email to Chevrolet went unanswered. Incidentally, Jack Cheskaty, the original owner of the white ZL1, currently works for the IRS and is living in Colorado.
