Turn signal troubleshooting
My turn signals don't work. The stalk will not stay locked into a "turn" position either. If I hold the stalk down with the headlights OFF, nothing happens. If I hold the stalk down with the headlights ON, the bulbs on the left turn OFF (but don't blink). Neither of the dash indicators light under any circumstance (burned out?).
I took off the steering wheel and found that the catches/hooks/barbs that lock the stalk into the "turn" position are worn off, so that's an obvious fix; replace the switch. I'm not much of an electrical troubleshooter. Though, I can fix most anything once I find out what's wrong .
Is my "no-light" problem just a bad flasher module? What else could it be?
Oh yeah, where's the flasher modules?

I had a similar problem with my turn signal. I had to hold the lever to engage the turn signal. I would not worry to much about the light issue until after you replace the turn signal switch. The problem could be on in the same. Usually the flasher module (relay) is on the fuse box but I don't know if your 68 is similar to my 80.
