My 71 originally had leather interior. It currently has fake wood on the door panels. My shifter console does NOT have the fake wood. My question is did all cars with leather have the fake wood on the center console? Also did they all have the carpet on the bottom of the door panels? I thought they did, but I almost never see the wood on the doors and on the shifter console.

If you have the wood on the doors and the carpet at the bottom then the car has a deluxe interior. The car then should also have the cut pile carpet and wood grain on the center console. Only the deluxe interiors will have this.

Deluxe means leather, wood grain, cut pile, door panel inserts and carpeted door panels.
I suppose a special order interior could have included leather without the rest...but only the build sheet or original window sticker could prove it.

The original wood panels were real wood veneer, not plastic as most people assume.
