I'd go 18's. They cost the same so why not jump all the way.

Wow! Lotsa sharp looking cars out there. I appreciate you all taking the time to post pics and list details. Looks like I've got plenty of options. My research also tells me this will be a somewhat pricey upgrade, but from the looks of things, obviously well worth it.
Thanks again

17" TT II's with p245 45 z 17's directionals I REALLY like the look of the directional style tires on these big rims. Well worth the $1,500 to make the car look "special."

You'd be surprised how cheap you can get c5 wheels for on ebay. Mine were $182.50 for the set.

Sorry for the slow reply. Been off-line a lot lately...

I think they were about $450 each by the time I added in the powder coat and derby caps.

"up sized" wheels and tires are a big expense, but really affect the overall style and presence of the car. I've got 18"x10" Centerline wheels (don't remember the model name) on my truck, and they were in the $400 ea. range, too. Of course, Centerline and Wheel Vintiques are less popular than AR, so tend to be a bit more expensive. The 18" wheels may not be much (if any) more than the 17" counterparts, but the tires make a big jump from 17 to 18. Since tires are comsumable and should be replaced every five years or so, regardless of wear, they are a bigger ownership expense than the wheels. My goal was to get some performace rubber under the car and 17 was about as small as I could go and still do that.

My 255-50s rub the frame in front at steering lock and I had to trim about 1/2" from the front 1/4 of the front fender lips. Rear fitment is fine.

I chose the TTII's before I was a member of the forum. I had no idea they were so popular on C3's but they just look good. Classic yet modern. Most any 5 spokes look good to me on a C3 though.
