Default What motor in a 76?

What motors normally come with a '76? (I know 350...) I am talking L48, L88, L82...) I know that I have an L98 in my 89 but not in the other cars.

Yes, but when I get home this weekend with the '76 I will be in a Vette and they will still be in a Cobalt.

Yeah, just don't go challenging a Cobalt SS.

Yeah but headers and exhaust won't give you 50hp in the Cobalt.

Do you think that Cobalt will have a 50+year production run and have it's own Museum?

I am not saying anything bad about a VETTE... I own a smog year VETTE. And love it. I am just amazed at technology. A 2.2L that can run in the low 15 to high 14s through front wheels and get upper 20 to low 30s in milage. THAT is AMAZING.

But I love the styling of a C3 VETTE.... nothing turns heads better. (that isn't a beautiful woman)

Yeah it is impressive. That is a lot of power showing up from a 4 banger. I am just not into the newer cars. They just don't have that look that gets me going. Even the new Mustang is OK but for it to really be good it needs to be longer and lower. Still looks like a shoe box if you ask me.

As someone who just purchased a '65 Chevy II project, I have to ask: What's wrong with looking like a shoebox?

Well, it's just that all the cars out now look the same. Your 65 will stand out becuase it's a classic. The new ones on the other hand all look like they are worried we are going to run out of parking spaces and will have to double up.

The new 05 Mustang looks "OK" from the front and back but to really make it look good it needs to be about 2' longer, and not so tall.

But that is just my opnion.. and you know what they say about Opnions... They are like buttholes. Everyone has one and we don't want to hear it.
