Ultimate sleeper ,1980 vette in NY ??
I have asked this before here and liked to bring it up again . Does anybody remember white 80 vette fetured long a go in Hot rod / car craft etc . It was totally 100% stock looking vette wich run 10s !?!?!?!? It had hidden fuelsystem for race gas, exhaust with remote cut offs and huge small block hidden under original smog system. It had allso two nos systems . One visible and another hidden. Hes trick was to "remove" the visible bottle this way competitor thoght car had no nos when on race.
Has anyone more info of this car ?

Safety Car
I remember the story but not all the details. Bone stock looking 'Vette (even running a Quadrajet on the stock intake). Owner admitted to NOS (one, anyway) but not to displacement. A street racer that couldn't get a race due to his rep. Looks stock, cleans clocks.

You are right Gerry. Attention to details was second to none. Even dragradials or real slicks had white good year text baked on em just like orginal tires had. Wheels ,interior and engine compartment like a brand new stock 80 vette!! It was something never seen before. I can understand why i was so stupid and lost that article

i definitely have that article "somewhere". that was a badass car.
can you imagine getting drilled by a "stock" 80 vette?
i'll check to see if i can find the article.

I don't know if this was the same car, but there was a totally stock appearing similar vintage vette at the Englishtown vette show n go, either last year or the year before, and he was dialing in 10 something and the track said, "whoa, you can't dial in less than 12.00 without a roll bar", and then he ran 11 something and went home. But everyone marveled about how completely stock it looked, including stock manifolds... Of course, I didn't even see it! If you ask over in the drag racing section or the northeast section somebody might remember that car.
