any pics of plug wires OVER rams horns?
My 76 has plug wires routed way down low along the block and then up to the plugs. Im thinking about changing it when I get new wires to go over the rams horns exhaust. However, I haven't seen any of them like that at local shows. They've either got headers, or they're routed beneath like mine. I'd like to see what it looks like.
Thanks, Jeremy

From what I understand it is easier to route them over than under the eng, I bought a universal set of wires you to fit, once you get the hang of it it isn't bad to do up the ends.

I tried running my wires on top with the ram horns.. the dang car ate the wires like cookie monster eats cookies!

TTT - does anybody have pictures of this, or do all rams-horns exhaust manifold small blocks get their wires routed underneath? Im sure there are some out there, cause they didn't route ALL cars wires underneath, and there are more than just Vettes with rams-horns exhaust

Straight Spark Plug Connectors
Used a set of Summit custom wires with straight plug connectors. Than used, I think they were Taylor wire seperators ran over valve covers. Looks good and more than enough distance from HOT rams horns.

Sorry no pix and i now use headers.
The originals all did run down behind the rear of cyl heads then forward and up to plugs. And i think i recall the forward 2 wires each side routed between block and mtr mount - though i tried and could not get my 7.5mm wires to do so and then routed outside the mtr mount.
Cutting and crimping your own wires is the best and most rewarding way to do it. Really most cost effective too. NAPA sells the crimper/strippers for spark plug wire and the wire with terminals too. 8mm spiral core with silicone jacket is good enough. Just strip short length, lay back core, and crimp on terminal - not rocket sience but do practice on a couple short pieces and buy extra terminals.
Well back when i did have ram-horns i routed the wires for 2 cyls furthest back each side (#5&7, #6&8) down at the rear of each head. Then ran the forward 2 cyl wires over the top without problem using cheap plastic wire spacers. But could have easily made my own wires long enough to reach past the front of cyl heads and down then back again and up to the plugs. This keeps the wires shielded by the stock shields and no other wire heat protection needed.
BTW for spacing Smokey Y. (may he rest in peice) said 1/2" min separation entire length to prevent enduced cross fires.
All i can say now is i will never go back to pre-cut wires on my corvette. cardo0
